TBS takes $150 million stake in Legendary to adapt Japanese manga and anime into live action

TBS made a $150 million equity investment in Hollywood production company Legendary Entertainment earlier in 2026, meaning it bought a share in the company. At TIFFCOM, executive officer Setoguchi Katsuaki said TBS is to act as a "cultural translator" for Legendary. The partnership focuses on adapting Japanese manga, anime and novels into live-action projects. No timetable was given.
