DNA Matches Two 1974 Utah Teen Killings, Linking Ted Bundy to Melissa Ann Smith's Death

Melissa Ann Smith, 17, and Laura Ann Aime, also 17, were both killed in Utah in 1974. A genetic marker called Y-STR from Smith's body matches one from Aime's. Summit County officials named Ted Bundy as Smith's killer on October 27, based on DNA evidence. Bundy had confessed to killing Aime before his 1989 execution.
