Inflation expected to hit 4.2% as markets price a 65% chance of a rate rise

The Australian Bureau of Statistics releases its inflation figures at 11:30am on 28 October. Economists expect annual inflation to rise to 4.2 per cent in September, up from 4 per cent the month before. Financial markets put about a 65 per cent chance on the Reserve Bank raising interest rates on Melbourne Cup day, 3 November.
