Russian court jails ex-IT director for 13 years; Binance records were key evidence

A Russian court convicted Yuri Belenkiy, a former IT director with a Bulgarian residence permit, of financing terrorism and sentenced him to 13 years. Binance, a cryptocurrency exchange that left Russia in 2023, gave Russian investigators his transaction history, which became key evidence. His defence questioned whether the data really came from Binance.
