21 News Publishers Challenge India's Privacy Law at Supreme Court
21 news publishers, through the Digital News Publishers Association (DNPA), have challenged India's privacy law in the Supreme Court. The law requires journalists to get consent from people they write about. The DNPA argues this is pre-censorship, meaning control over stories before publication, and could force newsrooms to shut down. The court has said it will hear the case next month.
