The Gilded Age was first ordered by NBC before landing at HBO

NBC first ordered The Gilded Age. Universal TV then shopped it to other buyers, and HBO picked it up after the creator's plans proved too ambitious for broadcast television, Deadline reported on 27 October 2026. Season 4 is set to debut on HBO and HBO Max on Sunday, 1 November, with eight weekly episodes.
