NZ First candidate Ron Mark blames 'woke' diversity policies for HMNZS Manawanui sinking

New Zealand First candidate Ron Mark has blamed the 2024 sinking of HMNZS Manawanui on "woke" diversity, equity and inclusiveness in an Instagram campaign ad. Mark said these had gone "too far". He denied the ad had anything to do with the ship being captained by a woman. National leader Christopher Luxon rejected Mark's assertion, citing a review of the sinking.
