Slow Horses director says a happier River and Sid ending was filmed but not used

Director Adam Randall says the Season 6 team filmed a happier ending for River Cartwright and Sid Baker but did not use it, according to Variety. The finale ends with River collapsed in his late grandfather's home. Randall directed Season 6 and returns to direct Season 8. The show has not confirmed a Season 7 plot.
