Carney concedes Trump has won NATO spending argument

Prime Minister Mark Carney told reporters in Ankara that Donald Trump has "won the argument" on NATO defence spending — the plainest concession any G7 leader has offered the American position since Trump returned to office. Carney said he told Trump by phone Sunday he had prevailed. NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte also credited Trump publicly for spurring alliance-wide military spending increases.
