Carney concedes Trump's point on NATO defence spending

Prime Minister Mark Carney told reporters in Ankara that Donald Trump has "won the argument" on NATO defence spending, the most direct concession any G7 leader has made to the American position since Trump's return to office. Carney said he told Trump directly by phone on Sunday that he had won the argument. NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte similarly credited Trump publicly for spurring alliance-wide military spending increases.
