Van Gogh's Blossoming Chestnut Trees heads Sotheby's New York sale on 18 November, estimated at US$180 million
Van Gogh's Blossoming Chestnut Trees, hidden away for more than 60 years, is the top lot at Sotheby's New York on 18 November. Sotheby's estimates it at around US$180 million before fees. With the buyer's premium, a fee paid on top of the closing bid, the total is expected to reach at least US$207 million, The Art Newspaper reported. That would be a Van Gogh auction record.
