Chief of Defence Force Tony Davies resigns over inappropriate relationship
Air Marshal Tony Davies has resigned as Chief of Defence Force, effective immediately. He said the resignation stemmed from an inappropriate relationship he had while in a unit command position. Defence Minister Paul Goldsmith said the role could no longer continue because of integrity matters. The matter has been referred to the Inspector-General of Defence, which oversees the armed forces.
