Black Church Bay's early drafts had Barry going missing, not Jasper

Early drafts of Black Church Bay had schoolteacher Barry going missing, according to The Hollywood Reporter's interview with stars Tom Cullen and Joe Locke, published 21 October 2026. In the finished film, 18-year-old Jasper, played by Locke, goes missing while Barry sleeps on his yacht. The trade paper says the switch shapes the story's focus.
