Voter Trust in Republicans on Top Issues Hits Record Low, Poll Finds

Voters have record low trust in Republicans to handle top issues such as immigration and rising prices, according to a poll shared with NPR October 21, 2026. The Strength In Numbers/Verasight poll of 2,028 respondents, taken October 13-19, found that on immigration, voters trusted Republicans by an average of 15 points in May 2025. By October, they trusted Democrats by one point.
