Los Angeles filming fell 3.7% in Q3 2026 as more productions claimed California's tax credit
FilmLA said Los Angeles production fell 3.7% in the third quarter of 2026, even as more projects qualified for California's state film tax credit. The credit's yearly total was raised from $330 million to $750 million, effective July 1, 2025. Location shoots stayed well below the five-year average. Variety reported the figures on October 21.
