The RFU does not select overseas-based players, so a move to France would likely end Maro Itoje's England career. Staying in England would make the Saracens forward eligible for a central England contract, the national deal for Test-match availability, worth about £150,000 a year. Saracens are in talks to extend his deal, which runs until after the 2027 World Cup.
