British 400m hurdles champion Alastair Chalmers says he must cut his 48.30-second personal best (fastest time) to around 47 seconds to reach an Olympic final, a gap of about 1.3 seconds. The Guernsey athlete, 26, is aiming to qualify in 2027, when the window runs to August, with Los Angeles 2028 his main goal.
