Man charged over alleged vehicle attack on MP Helen Haines held in custody until February 2027

Brendan Nugent, 43, faces three charges over an alleged vehicle attack on independent MP Helen Haines in Wangaratta on 20 October. He was arrested less than 100 metres from her electorate office. At Wangaratta magistrates court on Wednesday he said nothing and did not seek bail. He stays in custody until a committal mention on 4 February 2027.
