Badenoch says Conservatives would cut spending by £70bn

Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch said her party would cut spending by £70bn before the Budget on 28 October. She said half would go to cutting the deficit. The party plan lists £36bn from welfare and £9.5bn from overseas spending. She said Labour lacked the 'courage' to cut debt and fund defence. Labour's Bridget Phillipson called it 'reverse Robin Hood politics'.
