EU trade chair says UK could rejoin under 'Switzerland plus' deal within months

Bernd Lange, chair of the European Parliament's trade committee, said Britain could re-enter the EU under a 'Switzerland plus' deal negotiated within months of a UK decision to seek closer ties. Speaking in London, he said 'I would love to see the UK back' but called the model 'passive' with no UK role in EU decision-making.
