Albanese and Fijian PM Rabuka signed the Ocean of Peace Alliance in Suva on 6 July, pledging mutual defence if either nation is attacked. It's Australia's second formal defence treaty in under a year—the PNG deal followed last October. For three-quarters of a century, Australia had only ANZUS commitments with the US and New Zealand.
