Rotterdam's garbage-truck poetry listed as Dutch heritage

Rotterdam's poetry-covered garbage trucks were added to the Dutch Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage, the national list of living traditions, on October 13, 2026. The practice began in 1988 with Poetry International, with verse printed on all city waste vehicles. The city celebrated the listing by unveiling its latest poetic lorries.
