GlobalFoundries to operate two $21B Malta chip plants

$21 billion is the figure StreetInsider puts on a U.S.-Japan chip project in Malta, New York. GlobalFoundries said Oct. 14, 2026 it was picked to supply the technology and run the two new factories — fabs is industry shorthand — without owning them outright.
