Early-release prisoners in England and Wales left untagged, MPs say
Hundreds of prisoners freed early in England and Wales — including stalkers and violent offenders — left without electronic tags by Serco, MPs said on 13 October 2026. It came as government began freeing 650 inmates to ease overcrowding. Those freed early should be tagged for the middle third of sentences, but a senior service source warned delays could last a month.
