Nearly 200 independents in 100+ congressional races

Nearly 200 independent candidates, running without a party, are in more than 100 congressional races in fall 2026, including 173 for the U.S. House, NPR reported Oct. 13, 2026. All 435 House districts and 33 Senate seats are on the ballot Nov. 3, according to AP and Ballotpedia.
