Brent oil tops $106 as fighting lifts risk premium
Brent crude futures rose 1.8% to over $106 a barrel on Oct. 12, 2026, the Wall Street Journal reported, as fighting flared in the Middle East and Ukraine. That usually means dearer petrol and heating, and wider inflation — a rise in prices. In my view, this is a risk premium: fear of disruption, not an actual supply cut yet.
