Mordaunt says King was 'bored out of his mind' in Coronation rehearsals

Dame Penny Mordaunt said King Charles III was "bored out of his mind" during Coronation rehearsals in May 2023. Speaking at the Cheltenham Literature Festival, as reported by The Telegraph on 11 October 2026, she said he had done two weeks of rehearsals and "had enough", and she watched him "glaze over" in the coronation chair.
