Court overturns Bittar Euribor conviction in eighth reversal

London's Court of Appeal quashed Christian Bittar's 2018 Euribor-rigging (benchmark rate) conviction on 9 October 2026, the eighth such reversal. The former Deutsche Bank trader had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud, receiving five years, four months. The Serious Fraud Office said the conviction was safe. The ruling follows the Supreme Court overturning Tom Hayes and Carlo Palombo.
