Waymo and Uber End Autonomous Ride Partnership

Waymo and Uber have terminated their commercial partnership in Phoenix as of June 2026, ending a three-year test of third-party autonomous vehicle deployment. Waymo supplied vehicles and self-driving technology; Uber handled customer demand and interface. The breakup halts planned expansions to Austin and Atlanta. Waymo now operates its own vertically integrated Waymo One service in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Phoenix.
