UK Tops European NATO for Overseas Military Focus

Britain has the most overseas-focused military in European NATO, according to an 8 October 2026 Transition Security Project report. It estimates about 23% of the UK's 2024/25 military budget — just over £14bn — supported commitments across five continents. The authors warn that spending more on this global posture risks more waste.
