Britain Leads European Allies in Military Work Abroad

Britain’s military works abroad more than any other European member of NATO, the alliance of allied countries, says an 8 October 2026 Transition Security Project report. About 23% of Britain’s 2024/25 military money — just over £14bn — supported work across five continents. The authors warn spending more this way risks more waste.
