King Harald dies; Haakon succeeds with Ingrid Alexandra as heir

King Harald of Norway has died peacefully at Oslo University Hospital Rikshospitalet. His son has succeeded as King Haakon of Norway. His elder daughter is now Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway, the heir to the throne. The Norwegian Royal Court said on 7 October the royals will gradually resume official duties after court mourning ends on 9 October.
