Football Leaks whistleblower Rui Pinto to lose witness protection on 10 October

Rui Pinto, 37, the whistleblower behind Football Leaks, is due to lose protected-witness status in Portugal on 10 October. He has held protection since 2020 after granting investigators access to millions of files. His lawyer says an appeal will be filed. Justice minister Rita Alarcão Júdice says authorities will review the case.
