Test finds ChatGPT for Teens missed hour-long self-harm alert

Testers at Common Sense Media said a teen account could discuss self-harm for an hour in ChatGPT for Teens without triggering an alert to a linked parent account. Executive director Tom Siegel cited the case in the group's Oct. 7, 2026 assessment of teen safeguards and crisis response.
