San Rafael synagogue lifts sanctuary to face forested hills
Herman Coliver Locus Architecture in San Francisco has completed Congregation Rodef Sholom in San Rafael, California, Dezeen reported. The main sanctuary sits on the second floor. It frames mountains and forested hills to the east. Congregants said they felt closest to God when in nature. A vaulted timber ceiling opens to a giant window over the forest.
