Australian Soldier Killed, Five Injured in Northern Territory Training Drill

One Australian Army soldier was killed and five others injured during a training exercise — a practice drill — at Mount Bundey Training Area, about 100km south-east of Darwin, on 5 October 2026. Australia's Defence department confirmed it on 6 October. The family has been told, no name released, and the cause is still unknown.
