One Soldier Dies, Five Hurt in Army Practice in Northern Australia

One Australian soldier died and five were hurt during an army practice session at Mount Bundey, a training ground about 100km south-east of Darwin, on 5 October 2026. The Defence department, which runs Australia's military, confirmed it on 6 October. The family was informed, the name was withheld, and the cause is not yet known.
