Trinity Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina raised $25,000 and used it to erase $2 million in medical debt through RIP Medical Debt, which buys unpaid medical bills at a discount on the secondary market. The organization achieved an 80-to-1 return on investment. Any group with fundraising capacity can replicate the model without special infrastructure.
