Day Hall Vandalized Ahead of Protest Over Chi Phi Case

Cornell’s Day Hall was vandalized around 3 a.m. Oct. 5, 2026, with student activists smashing a glass door and spray-painting messages including “SMASH THE PATRIARCHY” and “AT CORNELL RAPISTS ARE PROTECTED PROTESTORS ARE EXPELLED.” The university says it is investigating. Campus protests were expected Oct. 5 over its handling of an alleged gang-rape involving Chi Phi fraternity.
