Designers build tree-mounted robot to knock on wood remotely

Shashwath Santosh and Nithin Eluvathingal have built the Knocker, a tree-mounted unit that taps wood on command, Dezeen reported on 5 October 2026. Users press 'knock on wood' in a web app to trigger it. It plays on the superstition that speaking of good luck spoils it unless wood is knocked.
