Sexual Assault Fugitive Who Faked His Death Dies in Utah Prison

Nicholas Rossi, a Rhode Island man who staged his own death to escape rape charges, died in a Utah state prison on June 26, 2026, while serving a five-year sentence. After resurfacing in Scotland, he fought extradition through Scottish courts before being convicted in August 2025 of assaulting two women. He did not complete his term.
