U.S. 10-Year Yield Rose Past 5.33% on Oct. 1, Then Eased

The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield — the rate Washington pays to borrow for 10 years — rose above 5.33% on Oct. 1, 2026, then pulled back, the Wall Street Journal reported. Higher yields like this usually mean pricier mortgages and business loans and weigh on stocks. In my view, that is financial tightening, not just daily noise.
