New Mexico Seeks $35B-$40B From Meta in Privacy Case

New Mexico asked a judge to fine Meta $35 billion to $40 billion after a jury found it violated the state's Unfair Practices Act, a consumer protection law, in the Cambridge Analytica case. The 2021 lawsuit said Meta misled users on privacy as over 50 million profiles were harvested without consent.
