Lula and Flávio Bolsonaro tied ahead of Brazil's first round

Lula and Flávio Bolsonaro are effectively tied heading into Brazil's first-round vote Sunday. A late-September Atlas poll had Lula at 45.3% and Bolsonaro at 42.2%. Polls also show a tie in a likely Oct. 25 runoff — a second vote held if no one tops 50%. Both candidates skipped the final debate.
