Chris Brown housekeeper accepts $9.5m reduced award in dog-mauling case

Maria Avila, mauled by Chris Brown's dog in December 2020, accepted $9.5 million in damages, her lawyer Nancy Doumanian confirmed in a court filing reported by Rolling Stone. A June jury awarded $12.9 million. Judge Huey Cotton ruled the sum excessive and ordered a new trial on damages if Avila rejected the cut.
