Microsoft says shader preloads make supported games launch up to 10x faster

Microsoft says Advanced Shader Delivery preloads shaders — instructions telling graphics cards how to draw a scene — during download to cut shader compilation waits. Microsoft says the system addresses long first launches and shader-related stutter, and enables select games to launch up to 10x faster across hardware from AMD, Intel, Nvidia and Qualcomm.
