
FCC Chair Says Taxpayer-Funded Trump Spots Need No Review
FCC Chairman Brendan Carr said Sept. 30, 2026, taxpayer-funded TV spots featuring President Donald Trump require no agency review. "There's nothing in there that strikes me to merit any sort of FCC review," said Carr, appointed by Trump. He likened them to public service announcements, or government information notices. The White House says they are not campaign ads.
