US$2 billion Griffin gift to build Carnegie Mellon Miami campus in Wynwood

About US$2 billion of Ken Griffin's more than US$3 billion gift to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh will build Carnegie Mellon University Miami in Wynwood, Miami, the university said. Announced on 30 September 2026, the campus will organise research around societal problems rather than conventional departments, Carnegie Mellon said.
