Escaped Texas Giraffe Found Trapped by Canyon Terrain

Gracie, a 15-foot giraffe from Cedar Hollow Ranch near Leakey, was found alive June 24 in a canyon boxed in by steep rock faces and a gate. She vanished Monday, last spotted on game camera footage west of Leakey. The same rugged landscape that made her hard to find also contained her—she couldn't escape the natural barriers. Authorities and animal rescue coordinated the search across the Hill Country region.
