Genevieve Verlander Takes Ball From Dad in His Final Start

Justin Verlander left his final start holding daughter Genevieve's hand. Tigers manager A.J. Hinch sent the 7-year-old to the mound in the sixth on Sept. 26, 2026, at Comerica Park. She wore his name and number. Verlander allowed two runs in 5 1/3 innings. Detroit beat Pittsburgh 4-3. The crowd stood through the five-and-a-half-minute delay.
